Quartzite Miner

This biking miner sporting a bikini and a sombrero can sometimes be spotted in Quartzite - an old mining town half way between Phoenix and La Quinta. Quartzite is also the home of Hi Jolly's pyramid tomb (historically relevant but unimpressive) and the annual Gem and Mineral show that draws hundreds of motor homes from across the country.

I came to thank you for visiting my website the robins. I don't know if you have ever been to my blog at My Blog.

I read your narrative about the man in the bikini and the town you live in. I was in Arizona a long time ago and mostly around Tucson and then again up in Show Low. I worked for Levys in Tucson and for a rancer in Show Low who leased land from the Apache Indian reservation.

That was back in 1951 and 1952. Lots of things happened since then.

Thanks again.

Well he looks like he's in pretty good shape! I visited a friend in La Quinta last weekend and I don't know how y'all deal with the heat - it was about 110 - ugh!
